Abstract
The author considers safety in the workplace as a fundamental human right that is not granted to educators in the U.S. He discusses a study from the American Psychological Association (APA) which found that teachers, school social workers, school psychologists, and school staff reported significant verbal or threatening victimization at the workplace, data showing that school violence is a growing crisis that need to be addressed, and his suggestions to improve school safety.
