Abstract
This article focuses on evaluating the effectiveness of an escape room-based computer-supported collaborative learning (ER-CSCL) approach in obstetric nursing education. A quasi-experimental study with 55 nursing students in northern Taiwan compared the ER-CSCL method to a traditional video-based learning approach, assessing learning achievement, collaboration awareness, learning motivation, and problem-solving skills. Results showed that the ER-CSCL approach significantly improved all four outcomes compared to video-based learning, highlighting its potential to enhance interactive, collaborative, and immersive learning experiences in nursing education. The study suggests that integrating escape rooms with collaborative learning strategies can better prepare nursing students for real-world clinical challenges, particularly in managing complex obstetric scenarios.
