Abstract
This article examines the role of ergonomics—divided into physical, cognitive, and organizational domains—in optimizing the work environment for sonographers within radiology departments. Physical ergonomics addresses musculoskeletal risks from repetitive and awkward postures during ultrasound imaging, while cognitive ergonomics focuses on mental workload, burnout prevention, and career progression to support sonographers' well-being. Organizational ergonomics involves improving workflow, communication, and continuing education through standardized protocols and training. The integration of these three ergonomic domains is presented as essential for enhancing sonographer health, productivity, and patient-centered care in clinical imaging settings.
