Abstract

The article focuses on recent advancements and contracts in space technology and exploration. Redwire is developing Mason, a scalable in-space manufacturing system designed to convert lunar and Martian regolith into a concrete-like material using three tools—BASE, PACT, and M3LT—to mitigate dust-related risks and reduce exploration costs. SFL Missions Inc. is part of a team contracted by the European Space Agency to conduct a Pre-Phase A study for the Moonraker lunar mapping mission, which will use LiDAR technology to create detailed 3D elevation models for landing site selection and scientific analysis. Maxar Space Systems has been awarded a contract by EchoStar Corporation to build the high-power EchoStar XXVI geostationary communications satellite, scheduled for delivery in 2028, to enhance DISH TV coverage across the U.S. SES and Impulse Space have signed a multi-launch agreement to use Impulse’s Helios kick stage to rapidly transfer SES satellites from low Earth orbit to higher orbits, improving deployment speed and flexibility.
