Abstract
Solar storms, also known as flares, occur when the Sun emits stronger X-ray radiation than usual. These storms can cause damage to planets in their path, such as Mercury, which is hit directly due to its proximity to the Sun. However, Earth is protected by its magnetic field, which acts as a force field and deflects the particles away from the planet. While some particles may occasionally penetrate the atmosphere during powerful solar storms, the Earth's magnetic field prevents any serious damage. These storms can also create beautiful auroras in the atmosphere near the North Pole. [Extracted from the article]
