Abstract

This study examines and evaluates a biosensor design based on the refractive index (RI) method using a one-dimensional (1D) photonic crystal (PC) with a superconductor structure. The superconductor under consideration in this study is YaBa2Cu3O7. The bilayer stack is made by etching the superconductor material. A bio-analyte layer, which serves as the sample being tested, is introduced to the superconductor structure as a middle cavity layer. Carefully adjusting the structural parameters maximizes the overall sensor efficiency. The performance results show that the suggested design achieved a high Q -factor of 8837 and an RI sensitivity of 90 nm/RIU with a reflection of 86.59%. The proposed sensing device has potential applications in the medical domain for biosensing. A sensitive biosensor has been designed and analyzed for the detection of oral cancerous cells in the test sample using one-dimensional photonic crystal sensors. Design parameters have been fine-tuned to enhance the sensor efficiency. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
