Abstract
The 2024 salary study for mechanical, electrical, fire protection, and lighting engineers revealed that respondents earned more than ever before, with an average base annual salary of $118,310 in 2023, showing a 3.4% increase from the previous year. The study also highlighted that 84% of respondents reported an increase in total compensation, with bonuses playing a significant role. Challenges faced by professionals included changing client expectations, pressure to reduce project timelines and costs, and a lack of junior team members for future preparation. The survey data indicated a growing trend in compensation and highlighted the impact of industry changes, demographics, and emerging technologies on engineering careers. [Extracted from the article]
