Abstract

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers is accepting applications for the National Youth Conservation Corps, which aims to provide training and education in natural resources conservation and outdoor recreation management. The deadline for applications is July 16, 2024, and a total of $7.5 million is expected to be awarded. Nonprofit organizations are eligible to apply. The funding is intended to offer young adults and veterans real-life work experiences in environmental stewardship, with a focus on the 43 states where USACE Civil Works projects are located. The award recipient will be responsible for recruiting, training, and placing qualified individuals to work on conservation and recreation management projects, providing them with opportunities for education, leadership, and personal development. The goal is to enhance their understanding of conservation and prepare them for careers in natural resources and recreation management. More information can be found at www.grants.gov.
