Abstract
The article focuses on Iraq's agreement with the Kurdistan Regional Government to resume oil exports through a pipeline in the semi-autonomous Kurdish region. This pipeline transports oil from the Kurdistan and Kirkuk fields to Turkey's Mediterranean port of Ceyhan, bypassing the conflict-affected Strait of Hormuz. The resumption of shipments comes amid regional tensions involving the US, Israel, and Iran, which have disrupted oil flows and forced Iraq to reduce production from 4.3 million to around 1.3–1.4 million barrels per day. The northern pipeline has the capacity to export 360,000 to 410,000 barrels daily, providing a strategic alternative route for Iraq's oil exports. [Extracted from the article]
