Abstract
Botanist Pablo Guerrero has dedicated his life to studying and protecting the cacti of the Atacama Desert in Chile. Guerrero's research has shown that climate change, poaching, and human impact are threatening the survival of these unique plants. He has identified that poaching and trade are major factors contributing to the increased extinction risk of cacti in the region. Guerrero is actively working on conservation efforts and collaborating with others to protect the Atacama's cacti from further decline. [Extracted from the article]
