Abstract
This study examines the role of financial technology (FinTech) in enhancing green supply chain management (GSCM) practices and sustainability performance among small and medium enterprises (SMEs) in India. Survey data from 300 SMEs reveal that while FinTech awareness positively influences GSCM awareness and green financing intentions, it does not consistently translate into the practical implementation of green financing or circular green innovation, indicating an awareness–implementation gap. Awareness of GSCM significantly drives the implementation of green financing, and actual financial investment is a key factor promoting circular green innovation. The findings highlight persistent barriers such as cost, technical expertise, regulatory challenges, and organizational resistance, suggesting that coordinated policy support, financial inclusion, and capacity building are essential to bridge gaps between awareness, investment, and sustainable innovation in Indian SMEs.
