Abstract
The Net Zero Insurance Alliance, once the largest climate alliance for insurers, is being replaced by the Forum for Insurance Transition to Net Zero (FIT) due to attacks from the anti-ESG movement. The United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) will convene and lead FIT. The decision comes after the Net Zero Insurance Alliance faced a mass exodus of key members who were concerned about litigation threats and antitrust questions. FIT aims to help insurers align their businesses with emission reduction goals and limit global warming. The group includes 19 insurers and reinsurers from around the world, as well as a consultative group of insurance regulators and supervisors. [Extracted from the article]
