Abstract
The Good Charcoal Company is recognized as one of the 100 Most Influential Companies for its pioneering efforts in sustainable grilling. Unlike traditional charcoal, which often has negative environmental impacts, the company sources its products from overgrown Namibian acacia trees, helping to restore grasslands in southeast Africa. The company's acacia charcoal emits 30% less CO2 and is the first charcoal certified by the Forest Stewardship Council to be sold in the U.S. Despite initial concerns about sustainability buy-in, sales have grown significantly since its launch in 2021, and its products are now available at major retailers.
