Abstract

The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has recently announced a ban on the use of chrysotile asbestos due to health concerns associated with exposure. The ban will affect various industries, including the Chlor-alkali industry, chemical production, and the oil industry. The EPA has provided compliance deadlines to transition away from the use of chrysotile asbestos. Several organizations have filed petitions seeking review of the rule, and these petitions have been transferred to the United States Court of Appeals for further proceedings.
