Abstract

The article focuses on the successful appraisal of gas and condensate from the Lumshiwal Formation in the Bilitang-1-ST-1 exploratory well within the TAL Block, located in Kohat district, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Oil and Gas Development Company Limited (OGDC), holding a 30% working interest, along with joint venture partners including MOL Pakistan Oil and Gas Co. B.V. (Operator, 10%), Pakistan Petroleum Limited (30%), Pakistan Oilfields Limited (25%), and Government Holdings Private Limited (5%), conducted the drilling and testing. The well reached a depth of 4,004 meters True Vertical Depth and tested gas at approximately 26.5 million standard cubic feet per day with a wellhead flowing pressure of 4,214 psi. This appraisal reduces exploration risks and is expected to enhance Pakistan’s energy security by increasing indigenous hydrocarbon reserves. [Extracted from the article]
