Abstract
Boyan Slat, the founder and CEO of The Ocean Cleanup, is working to remove 90% of floating plastic from the ocean by 2040. Despite early setbacks, the nonprofit has successfully removed over 21,000 tons of plastic since 2019 using a two-pronged approach involving river contraptions and ocean garbage patch cleanups. Slat plans to pause sea operations in 2025 to improve plastic cluster prediction techniques, aiming to save time and resources in the long run. [Extracted from the article]
