Abstract

The article suggests that an understanding of stimulation theories and the importance of the biophilia effect in social work practice is needed by social workers. Topics discussed include nature-based treatments that can be utilized by social work professionals to address mental health and stress-related conditions in conjunction with traditional therapeutic approaches, evidence-based research on nature-based practices, and insight on forest bathing and grounding or earthing.
