Abstract

This study investigates the impact of green supply chain management (GSCM) practices on the sustainability performance of Kerala's Ayurvedic manufacturing sector. It identifies five key GSCM practices—green procurement, green processing, green inventory management, green distribution, and green logistics—and finds a moderate positive correlation between these practices and sustainability outcomes. Statistical analysis reveals that green processing, inventory management, and logistics significantly enhance environmental, economic, and social sustainability, while green procurement and distribution have limited or non-significant effects. The research offers practical insights for industry practitioners and policymakers to prioritize specific green practices, particularly in processing and logistics, to optimize resource use and reduce environmental impact in the Ayurvedic manufacturing supply chain.
