Abstract
An oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico off the coast of Louisiana has resulted in the release of an estimated 26,000 barrels of crude oil. The US Coast Guard is currently searching for the source of the leak, which was discovered on Thursday morning. Main Pass Oil Gathering Company, the operator of the pipeline near the site of the spill, has shut down its line. Skimming ships are working to recover oil on the surface, and there have been no reported injuries or shoreline impact. The news of the spill has caused prices of Heavy Louisiana Sweet oil to increase. [Extracted from the article]
