Abstract
The article focuses on the marine conservation efforts at Six Senses Laamu, a resort in the Maldives that integrates marine biology into its guest experience. The resort hosts a research center with resident NGOs conducting large-scale projects, including the Maldives Underwater Initiative, which released 3 million coral larvae in response to the 2024 global bleaching event, and a sister organization that established the country’s first resort-based sustainable fishing program. Additional efforts include turtle research across Laamu Atoll. Guests have unique opportunities to engage directly with the science through lab visits, diving with biologists, and earning specialized certifications. [Extracted from the article]
