Abstract
Porochista Khakpour, an Iranian American author, has released a new satirical novel titled Tehrangeles. The story follows the Milanis, a wealthy Iranian American family in Los Angeles, as they strive to become reality television stars. As their lives unravel, the family confronts issues of ethnicity, class, and identity. Khakpour, who suffers from Lyme disease and other health conditions, wrote the novel as a departure from the trauma-focused stories that editors wanted from her. She hopes her work will reach those who feel unrepresented in literature. [Extracted from the article]
