Abstract
This article focuses on the mental health consequences of the Taliban's ban on female education in Afghanistan, highlighting a study that found high rates of depression, suicidal ideation, and reduced quality of life among affected girls. The study used the CES-D 20 Scale and the WHOQOL-Bref Questionnaire to assess depression and quality of life but was limited by its descriptive design, potential sample biases, and lack of qualitative data. The article recommends future research employ experimental or longitudinal designs, more representative sampling, and mixed methods incorporating qualitative data to better understand the subjective experiences and causal impacts of the education ban on girls' mental health and well-being.
