Abstract
This article examines the ethical implications of using ChatGPT, an artificial intelligence-based language model developed by OpenAI, in academic publications. It highlights that while ChatGPT can assist with tasks such as translation, summarization, and language editing, it cannot be credited as an author according to established authorship guidelines, and its contributions should be transparently acknowledged. The article discusses concerns including inaccuracies, plagiarism risks, inconsistent citations, and the need for objective tools to detect AI-generated content. It emphasizes the importance of developing standardized policies and educational measures to ensure responsible and ethical use of ChatGPT in research and publishing.
