Abstract
The article discusses the challenges faced by immigrants from Muslim-majority countries in the U.S. immigration system, highlighting structural barriers, discriminatory policies, and pervasive Islamophobia. Policies implemented after 9/11 disproportionately targeted Muslim communities, leading to increased surveillance, detainment, and deportation. The Muslim Ban under the Trump administration further complicated matters, impacting immigration from certain countries and separating families. The article calls for comprehensive immigration reform, increased transparency in the visa application process, and training on cultural competency to combat Islamophobia and create a more just and inclusive immigration system.
