Abstract
A study conducted by researchers at University Gadjah Mada in Indonesia compared parental attachment patterns in Generation Z adolescents from matrilineal and patrilineal backgrounds. The study, which included 206 participants from Batak and Minangkabau ethnic backgrounds, found no significant difference in parental attachment levels between the two groups. The research highlighted the importance of communication, trust, and alienation in predicting preferred attachment figures, providing insights for parents in understanding parental attachment in Generation Z with diverse cultural backgrounds.
