Abstract

This article explores the phenomenon of impostor syndrome, in which individuals feel inadequate despite their accomplishments, and offers strategies to handle these feelings of inadequacy. Examples from Natalie Portman and Howard Schultz highlight how even successful individuals struggle with self-doubt. To overcome impostor syndrome, the article suggests recognizing the benefits of being a novice in a field, focusing on learning rather than performance, and cultivating a learning mindset to see mistakes as part of the learning process. Additionally, it emphasizes the power of perspective, pointing out that many others likely feel similarly, and offers reassurance that overcoming impostor syndrome is possible by reframing challenges as opportunities for growth and gaining a unique perspective.
