Abstract
Harvey Weinstein, the disgraced movie mogul, is facing a new indictment in New York after his 2020 rape conviction was overturned. The details of the new charges remain sealed, and it is unclear when they will be unsealed. Weinstein's previous conviction and sentencing were seen as significant moments in the #MeToo movement, but the verdict was later overturned due to improper reliance on testimony from women whose claims were not part of the case. Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg has stated that he plans to retry Weinstein. The hearing occurred while Weinstein was recovering from heart surgery after being transferred from Rikers Island.
