Abstract
An interview with American filmmaker King Vidor is presented. Topics discussed include Vidor's first job in Hollywood, his production of the 1925 silent film "The Big Parade," and how he wrote the story for the 1928 silent romance film "The Crowd." Also discussed are the casting of actor James Murray in "The Crowd," how Vidor achieved the deglamorized look of the 1930 Western film "Billy the Kid," and his control of actress Bette Davis' performance in the 1949 film noir "Beyond the Forest."
