Abstract
This article focuses on Steven Spielberg and his wife Kate Capshaw’s philanthropic efforts to use storytelling as a means to bridge social and political divides in the United States. They founded the Hearthland Foundation in 2019 to promote connection, justice, and equity through narrative-driven programs such as the American Exchange Project and initiatives supporting civic engagement and community dialogue. Spielberg’s other philanthropic work includes the USC Shoah Foundation, which preserves testimonies of Holocaust survivors and other genocide witnesses, and the Righteous Persons Foundation, dedicated to strengthening Jewish life and combating intolerance. The couple emphasize listening, empathy, and shared stories as essential tools for healing divisions and fostering a more united society. [Extracted from the article]
