Abstract

The article focuses on the retrial of Harvey Weinstein, the former movie producer, following the overturning of his 2020 New York sexual assault conviction by the state's top court. The court ruled that testimony from three women about Weinstein's prior conduct was improperly admitted, leading to a new trial. In the retrial, the jury convicted Weinstein of one charge of forcibly subjecting a person to a criminal sex act from 2006, acquitted him of another related charge, and remained deadlocked on a 2013 rape charge. Weinstein has denied all allegations and pleaded not guilty.
