Abstract

Ariptyelus ikalihanisp. nov. (Hemiptera: Cercopoidea: Aphrophoridae) is described from adults collected from Pinus kesiya (Pinaceae) and understory plants in Santa Fe, Nueva Vizcaya on the island of Luzon, Philippines. This is the fourth species described in the genus Ariptyelus, which also includes A. arisanus (Matsumura, 1942), A. auropilosusMatsumura, 1940, and A. subauropilosusShih & Yang, 2007. Based on the morphology of the male genitalia and dorsal coloration, it most closely resembles A. auropilosus. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
