Abstract

The article focuses on the distribution of e-commerce service points in Turkmenistan as of April 1, 2026, highlighting Ashgabat's leading role with 760 points, which constitute nearly 70% of the national total and reflect a 5.7% increase since January 1. Nationwide, there were 1,075 active e-commerce service points, a 3.1% rise from the start of the year, with other regions such as Lebap, Balkan, Mary, Dashoguz, Ahal, and Arkadag having significantly fewer points. This data, provided by the Central Bank of Turkmenistan, illustrates a concentration of e-commerce services in the capital, indicating disparities in access between urban and less populated areas. The Central Bank, established in 1991, oversees the national financial system and publishes official statistics to track sector developments.
