Abstract
Greenland has opened a new international airport in Nuuk in anticipation of a significant increase in tourist arrivals by air. The airport features a 2.2-kilometer runway and is expected to boost local tourism by accommodating larger planes. Major airlines like United Airlines, SAS AB, and Icelandair Group hf have announced direct routes to Nuuk from various locations, with passenger traffic projected to double to over 100,000 annually. Two additional airports in Ilulissat and Qaqortoq are scheduled to open in 2026. [Extracted from the article]
