Abstract

The article describes how community health advocates in Seattle educate residents about eating only salmon from the polluted Duwamish River while avoiding contaminated bottom-dwelling fish, supported by a major cleanup agreement. Topics include culturally tailored outreach to immigrant fishing communities, training local advocates and youth advisors; and using workshops and cooking demonstrations to reduce health risks.
