Abstract

Thailand is expanding its rail network, bringing train travel between Bangkok and Beijing closer to reality. A trial service will run between Bangkok and Vientiane, the capital of Laos, in July. This new link will improve transportation between Thailand, Laos, and China. The journey from Bangkok to Beijing will take almost a full day, compared to a non-stop flight of just under five hours. The improved connectivity with China is expected to boost economic growth and tourism between the two countries. [Extracted from the article]
