Abstract
This article focuses on patient experience and satisfaction with the Opioid and Naloxone Education (ONE) Program, a community pharmacy-based screening and intervention initiative addressing opioid-related risks. Survey results from 76 patients in urban and rural settings indicated high levels of comfort (86.5%), perceived appropriateness of time spent (93.2%), and feelings of increased safety (86.3%) during the ONE screening process. Urban patients were more likely than rural patients to report changes in attitudes and behaviors toward opioids, and patients who learned new information from pharmacists showed greater positive changes. Overall, the findings suggest that brief opioid risk screening and intervention by community pharmacists is well accepted by patients and may support broader implementation of such public health efforts.
