Abstract

The article discusses the theme of participation in theatre and theatre research. It highlights the importance of including marginalized scholars, practitioners, and students in the field and recognizes the value of lived experience and diverse perspectives. The article features various case studies and analyses that explore different aspects of participation, such as democratization of expertise in theatre criticism, Indigenous cultural resurgence, abolition dramaturgies, adaptation in contemporary Canadian theatre, and the use of telephones in amateur productions.
