Abstract
The US has issued a warning to Pacific nations about the potential consequences of accepting security assistance from China. This comes after reports emerged that Chinese police officers are working in Kiribati, a small island chain near Hawaii. While the US respects the sovereignty of independent nations, they believe that importing security forces from China could escalate tensions in the region. China has been seeking to expand its influence in the Pacific, and the US and its allies have responded by increasing their diplomatic efforts. The US claims to have played a role in maintaining peace and security in the Indo-Pacific region since World War II. [Extracted from the article]
