Abstract
Leaders from Somalia and Eritrea recently held talks to strengthen political and security cooperation, as well as discuss regional development and other shared interests. Eritrea has been training Somali soldiers to combat the al-Shabaab militant group and take over security responsibilities after the withdrawal of African Union troops. This is the seventh visit by the Somali president to Eritrea since coming to power in 2022. Additionally, Eritrea has reportedly expelled a Sudanese diplomat for allegedly attempting to recruit Eritreans to fight alongside the Sudanese army. Despite this incident, Sudan and Eritrea maintain good relations. [Extracted from the article]
