Abstract
The author discusses possible improvements in the U.S. and global response to future pandemics, based on the lessons learned from the Cuban experience. It focuses on a published report organized by nonprofit Medical Education Cooperation with Cuba which suggests key observations, including the success of vaccine development and delivery and how Cuba invented approaches to deal with COVID-19 due to its economic and social isolation linked to U.S.-imposed restrictions.
