Abstract

The article recalls the two-week gathering at MacKinnon's Brook in Cape Breton Island, Nova Scotia led by Amy Franceschini and Lode Vranken, members of the international artist collective FutureFarmers, in the summer of 2023. Topics include their collaboration with regional farmer Peter Leblanc and violinist Jacques Mindreau, the use of the different forms of sound in the landscape in understanding the complexities of the place, and a performance in the cove at MacKinnon's Brook.
