Abstract

This article focuses on strategies to safeguard and improve quality of health care in the conflict-affected context of Sudan, recognized as the largest humanitarian crisis globally. It highlights the application of a World Health Organization (WHO) framework comprising eight elements for quality care, emphasizing situational analysis and targeted interventions by the NGO Alight Sudan to address critical gaps such as malnutrition, medication supply, and service delivery across multiple states. Despite challenges posed by ongoing conflict, displacement, and resource scarcity, efforts include mobile clinics, data collection, community engagement, and workforce development to maintain essential health services. The article underscores that while difficult, implementing quality care interventions in fragile settings is feasible and vital to reducing human suffering.
