Abstract

Hurricane Beryl is currently moving towards the Cayman Islands after causing destruction in Jamaica and Grenada. The storm, which reached Category 5 strength earlier this week, is now a Category 3 hurricane with winds of 125 miles per hour. The Cayman Islands are expected to experience strong winds, heavy rain, and a storm surge of up to 4 feet. After passing the Cayman Islands, Beryl is forecasted to make landfall on Mexico's Yucatan Peninsula. The storm has already caused at least six deaths in the Caribbean and is impacting markets, with European insurers seeing a decline in shares. [Extracted from the article]
