Abstract

For pamphlet satisfaction, 46 (53.5%) respondents agreed the pamphlet explained their skin disease/procedure in an understandable way, and 49 (57.0%) agreed it increased their knowledge about the causes of their disease/reasons for the procedure. Skin disease is the fourth leading cause of non-fatal disease worldwide, yet over 3 billion people in developing countries lack access to basic dermatologic care.[1] In developing countries, there are few dermatologists, and primary care physicians (PCPs) often have limited formal dermatology training. Health pamphlets in Spanish on skin diseases and procedures provide educational benefits to patients during a short-term dermatology brigade in Honduras. [Extracted from the article]
