Abstract
The article focuses on the challenges and prospects facing Europe’s political cohesion, economic competitiveness, and defense capabilities amid internal divisions and external pressures from the United States, China, and Russia. It reviews David Marsh’s book *Can Europe Survive?*, which chronicles Europe’s recent crises but leaves open the question of its future trajectory. Despite setbacks, Europe has made notable strides in integration, joint fiscal measures, and military aid, yet it faces persistent obstacles such as fragmented defense spending, slow economic reforms, and vulnerability to China’s growing trade surplus. The article concludes that Europe’s survival is not in doubt, but its ability to act as a relevant global power depends on political will to accelerate reforms in economic unity, defense sovereignty, and strategic autonomy.
