Abstract
The article investigates the influence of Entrepreneurial Orientation (EO)—defined by five dimensions: innovativeness, risk-taking, proactiveness, competitive aggressiveness, and autonomy—on the growth of small and medium enterprises (SMEs) in Windhoek, Namibia. Using quantitative data collected from 186 registered SMEs via an online questionnaire and analyzed through structural equation modeling, the study finds that four EO dimensions (innovation, proactiveness, competitive aggressiveness, and autonomy) significantly and positively impact SME growth, measured by sales volume, profit, and employment, while risk-taking shows no significant effect. The research addresses a gap in Namibian SME literature by applying a comprehensive EO framework and suggests that SMEs in Namibia should strategically focus on the EO dimensions that enhance growth. Limitations include the regional focus on Windhoek, use of convenience sampling, and exclusion of unregistered or inactive SMEs, with recommendations for broader, comparative future studies.
