Abstract

This article focuses on the assessment of positive mental health and its protective factors—hope, resilience, and subjective happiness—in the general Paraguayan population following the World Health Organization's declared end of the COVID-19 pandemic. An observational, cross-sectional online survey of 591 adults in Paraguay found that 42.6% reported flourishing mental health, which was associated with higher levels of hope, resilience, and subjective happiness, as well as factors such as urban residence, being in a partnered relationship, university education, and employment. Economic issues were identified as the primary source of stress, unrelated directly to the pandemic. The findings suggest that collective recovery processes may have been adopted in Paraguay and highlight the potential role of positive psychology components in supporting mental health post-pandemic.
