Abstract
The article discusses the recent courtship of Mauritania by various global powers, including China, Germany, NATO, and Russia. These countries are interested in Mauritania due to its relative political stability, natural gas reserves, renewable energy potential, and strategic location on the Atlantic coast. Despite Mauritania's history of coups and human rights abuses, it has made progress in counterterrorism efforts and democratic transition. The article highlights the competition among these powers for influence in Mauritania and the potential implications for the region. [Extracted from the article]
