Abstract

White Desert is a luxury camp in Antarctica that offers visitors the opportunity to experience the remoteness and isolation of the polar plateau while enjoying gourmet meals and comfortable accommodations. The camp, founded by Patrick Woodhead, aims to minimize its impact on the environment and set best practices for sustainable tourism in Antarctica. Visitors are brought to the camp on a weekly flight from Cape Town, and the camp uses sustainable aviation fuel and environmentally friendly living quarters. Activities at White Desert include visiting the South Pole and the emperor penguin colony at Atka Bay. [Extracted from the article]
