Abstract
The article focuses on Emirates Global Aluminium's (EGA) cessation of its bauxite mining operations in Guinea following the expropriation of its mine by the Guinean government. EGA's subsidiary, Guinea Alumina Corp. (GAC), is in the process of terminating employee contracts and service agreements, as the government has assumed control of the mining facilities and infrastructure. This decision follows a dispute over GAC's failure to build a promised refinery and the government's cancellation of the mining concession agreement. Guinea, the world's leading bauxite producer, has seen a decline in bauxite exports from GAC's site due to these developments. [Extracted from the article]
